Babson's Quarry at Halibut Point State Park ~ October Afternoon

June Sunset in the Quarry

A Note from Les Bartlett

I live 5 minutes from this wonderful natural treasure known as Halibut Point State Park. Over the course of the past 5 years I have increasingly wandered the park, and photographed it year round.

It's a humbling experience to come upon the Babson Quarry's edge in a early January morning. The howling wind and snow-swept branches are hard to imagine on a languid summer afternoon.

This site then is a celebration and documentation of the natural beauty found in this coastal park. Some of its most stunning beauty is found off-season in the fall and early spring.

The photography in this site is at once casual and studied. Studied means grab the camera and run when the light shines right...

Selected images from Halibut Point State Park can be found at my fine art website:www.followthegleam.com
